Majestic Star Finds A Partner For Online Sports Betting In Indiana, BetIndiana

Earlier this month, a new mobile sports betting app was set to be launched in Indiana, thanks to a deal inked between Spectacle Entertainment and BetIndiana.

USA Sports Gaming LLC, an Illinois-based company, is the creator of BetIndiana. They are also the brains behind BetChicago, which is yet to be launched.

Frank Ignatius, who founded and presides over USA Sports Gaming, stated that Spectacle intends to submit the vendor application to the Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) at the earliest opportunity.

In a statement, Ignatius confirmed that all necessary preparations have been completed on their end. He also expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership.

Just like BetIndiana, Spectacle Entertainment is an independent operator in the gaming industry, born and bred in the Midwest. We have a strong connection with our local markets, and we see a significant synergy in this region. We are confident that we can offer Indiana bettors an unmatched betting experience in the state.

A proposal for a unified sports betting platform combining a mobile application and a retail sportsbook.

The IGC gave approval to Spectacle Entertainment over two months ago to relocate its Majestic Star casino from Lake Michigan inland.

The decision also includes a rebranding; the new Hard Rock Casino will be located adjacent to the Borman Expressway.

The company has explicitly stated that their new premises will not feature a physical sportsbook. They will mainly concentrate on online sports betting. Though there will be a lounge replicating a sportsbook environment, bettors will have to use the app to place their wagers.

John Keeler, Vice President and General Counsel of Spectacle, announced the company’s plan to introduce a hybrid mobile sports betting app and retail sportsbook in Indiana. This innovative concept is expected to be launched by the Super Bowl.

The Majestic Star has already received sports betting approval from the IGC, however, BetIndiana is still awaiting approval to proceed with its online plans.

BetIndiana, the new arrival in town.

Ignatius firmly believes that BetIndiana, despite its lower profile in the online sports betting industry, has the potential to successfully rival big names like DraftKings, FanDuel, and William Hill.

Ignatius is sure that BetIndiana possesses the technological capability to rival bigger companies. However, he recognizes the difficulty in increasing their brand’s market visibility.

BetIndiana aims to set itself apart by employing a suitable team to generate its own pricing. Ignatius admits that this team has not yet been hired and, while they wait, the company will utilize data from Sportradar.

Indiana sportsbooks are rapidly transitioning into the online market.

The first sports bet in Indiana took place in September. Following this, DraftKings and BetRivers started accepting the state’s initial online wagers in October.

Currently, there are three online sportsbooks located in Indiana:

  • DraftKings Sportsbook
  • FanDuel Sportsbook
  • BetRivers Sportsbook

We can reasonably anticipate the launch of several additional mobile sports betting apps before the year concludes.

“Ignatius proclaimed, ‘It is widely recognized that mobile will become the primary platform for sports betting.'”

By examining Iowa’s example, it is possible to infer the potential of the Hoosier State. In Iowa, online wagers made up 56% of all bets in the first month of sports betting, even though fewer than half of the casinos had an online presence. Moreover, the potential for access restriction exists due to the burdensome requirement for in-person registration.

Casinos in Indiana are probably hard at work readying to start online platforms at the earliest opportunity. This is crucial since sportsbooks are working tirelessly to draw in new customers.
