Amenities at Belterra Casino Resort & Spa

First and foremost, Belterra features more than 600 guest rooms of various sizes, accommodations, and costs. About half the rooms are deluxe rooms with around 250 standard rooms, plus just over 50 suites. Nearby are an outdoor pool, a fitness center and spa, and a coffee shop, and it is just a short walk over to the casino.

There's much to do in addition to gambling on the property. The CenterStage Showroom is a nearly 13,000-square-foot venue available for meetings and award banquets. It is also regularly used for concerts and performances by a variety of musical and comedy acts with room for up to 1,500 attendees.

There's more fun happening at Club 38, an exclusive VIP nightclub and private bar available to upper-tier (Emerald, Onyx, Titanium) Boyd Rewards members.

Another big positive for the property is the nearby 18-hole, par-71 golf course. It's a championship course rated as one of the top 30 courses in the country by Golfweek. Guests can play the course at reduced rates with club memberships and other packages available as well.

The property also features a number of restaurants. For fine dining, there is 19 Steak & Seafood.

Those seeking more casual fare have a few choices. The Border Grill (open only on the weekends) offers a selection of Tex-Mex and American cuisine. You'll find burgers, chicken wings and the like at the Stadium Sports Bar & Grill, which features 30 high-definition televisions. There is also the Out of Bounds Bar & Grill located in the clubhouse at the adjacent golf course.

Meanwhile for “quick bites” there is Nosh. This eatery offers a variety of sandwiches, snacks and beverages.

Boyd Rewards

Visitors to Belterra Casino Resort & Spa can participate in the Boyd Rewards program, a loyalty program available at more than two dozen Boyd-operated properties across the US.

The program allows Belterra guests and casino players to accumulate Boyd Rewards Points and Tier Credits that can be redeemed in a variety of ways. Boyd Rewards participants can earn casino credit, free or discounted hotel stays, discounts on food and retail purchases, discounted flights and cruise packages, B Memorable experiences, annual gifts and more.

Whenever you play any casino games or bet in the FanDuel Sportsbook, you accumulate Boyd Rewards Points and Tier Credits. While you can redeem Boyd Points for various rewards and perks, the amount of Tier Credits you accumulate during the calendar year determines your tier status. There are five tiers in the program:

  • Ruby
  • Sapphire
  • Emerald
  • Onyx
  • Titanium

As you proceed up through the tiers, you become eligible for increased rewards. You also are able to accumulate Boyd Rewards Points at a faster clip as you move up the tiers.

One great benefit of the Boyd Rewards program is the fact that you can earn rewards at any participating property. At present, there are 26 casinos in 10 different states participating in the program, including several casinos in Midwest states and in Las Vegas. Along with Belterra Casino, the Blue Chip Casino Hotel Spa is the only other retail casino in Indiana participating in the Boyd Rewards program.

Belterra Casino Resort & Spa history

After Indiana legalized riverboat casinos in 1993, Hollywood Park Inc. received a license to open a casino on the Ohio River in Switzerland County. The riverboat had been built in Alabama and was traveling up the Mississippi River in July 2000 when it struck a barge and was badly damaged; passengers had to be rescued.

After that setback, repairs were made, and the Belterra made it to dock in Florence where the casino opened on Oct. 27, 2000. By then Hollywood Park Inc. had changed its name to Pinnacle Entertainment, and Pinnacle retained ownership of the casino until 2016 when it sold the real estate to Gaming and Leisure Properties, which then leased it back to Pinnacle.

In 2018, Boyd Gaming Corporation acquired Belterra Casino along with three other casinos in the region from Pinnacle. Gaming and Leisure Properties continued as the owner of those properties' real estate assets, henceforth leasing the property to Boyd.
