Not far up West State Road is a sister hotel, West Baden Springs, with another 243 luxury guest rooms and suites. Both the French Lick and West Baden hotels are listed among the Historic Hotels of America.

As far as dining goes, 1875: The Steakhouse is the property's signature restaurant, offering a variety of fine dining options highlighted by premium-aged Angus steaks. Those seeking an even more exclusive dining experience can reserve Table One, a private table with an exclusive custom menu available Friday or Saturday nights.

The Grand Colonnade Restaurant is the spot for a daily breakfast buffet. Casual dining options include the Power Plant Bar & Grill offering appetizers, salads, burgers and sandwiches. Pluto's Pizzeria located in Pluto's Alley offers plenty of pizza, calzones, stromboli and other Italian fare.

On the casino floor, you'll find Casino Park Grab & Go for sandwiches, flatbread pizzas, snacks and beverages. French Lick Mercantile is the property's coffee shop, located in the hotel lobby. There is also Spring No. 8, a well-stocked “quick bites” option near the pool.

There are also RV slips nearby where travelers can enjoy the resort and stay in their own recreational vehicles.

The French Lick Springs Hotel and the West Baden Springs Hotel have their own spas with a full range of treatments and services. There are also no less than three different golf courses located close to the resort.

The Pete Dye Course is a championship course that has hosted the Senior PGA Championship and many other top events. The Donald Ross Course is another former PGA Championship host site. There is also the nine-hole Valley Links, which dates back more than a century.

French Lick Rewards

The French Lick Resort Casino has its own loyalty program, French Lick Rewards, giving visitors opportunities to become eligible for different rewards and giveaways.

French Lick Rewards is a tiered loyalty program. Its three tiers are as follows:

• Ruby
• Amber
• Emerald

Joining the program and receiving a French Lick Rewards card enables visitors to earn credits every time they play games in the casino, spend money on the property or stay in the hotel. They can then redeem those credits at on-site dining venues or retail outlets, as well as at the spa, the golf course, stables and more. They can use credits to pay for their next stay in the hotel as well.

Everyone starts with Ruby Rewards and can then progress to Amber Rewards and Emerald Rewards. As you earn credits, you ascend the levels and earn greater perks and benefits.

The casino also runs giveaways for which only French Lick Rewards members are eligible. For instance, the casino frequently conducts a Golden Hot Seat Giveaway: $50 of rewards to players currently playing games with their French Lick Rewards card. French Lick Resort Casino history

The original French Lick Springs Hotel was built way back in 1845. During subsequent decades, it expanded as golf courses were constructed in the surrounding area. Ownership changed several times during the late 20th century. Then, in 2005, Cook Group, Inc. of Bloomington took over the property, which then also included the West Baden Springs Hotel.

At the time, Indiana had just legalized riverboat gambling, and among those obtaining one of the first casino licenses was Donald Trump, who planned to build a casino resort in French Lick. However, only a few weeks later Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts filed for bankruptcy and the project never began.

That's when the Cook Group led a partnership called Blue Sky Casino LLC and was able to receive the unused French Lick license. The hotels closed for a time while the casino was built but were reopened for the grand opening of French Lick Resort Casino on Nov. 3, 2006. Technically situated in a pond rather than on a river, the new French Lick Casino became popularly known as a “boat on a moat.”

The casino was renovated and expanded in 2009, the Event Center was added later in 2015, and the Valley Tower opened in 2019. Today the resort is the largest employer in Orange County, Indiana, with the property evolving into an especially popular tourist destination for gamblers and golfers.
