Indiana Casinos Made $2.4 Billion Of Revenue In 2022

New data on the performance of Indiana’s casinos last month has been released by state regulators.

In December, the industry of the state generated revenue worth $203 million. This pushed the total revenue of Indiana’s casinos for 2022 beyond the $2.4 billion mark.

Last year, casinos amassed billions.

Last year, casinos in the Hoosier State made significant profits. The Indiana Gaming Commission’s most recent report provides a comprehensive view of the state’s industry for 2022. However, online casinos are still not allowed in Indiana for the time being.

Taking everything into account, it was an excellent year for the casino industry.

Last year, casinos in the state generated over $2.4 billion in revenue. This substantial sum resulted in nearly $700 million in taxes for Indiana throughout the year.

Numerous Hoosiers frequent the state’s casinos annually, but the industry also profits from gamblers visiting from out of state. Many of the state’s casinos are conveniently located near the borders of Chicago, Cincinnati, and Louisville. This strategic placement enables them to attract business from multiple states simultaneously.

The state’s 13 casinos and racinos are likely elated over the revenue haul of $2.4 billion. There’s no denying that it’s a significant amount. The December 2022 figures propelled the state past the finish line to achieve that annual total.

December 2022 revenue for Indiana casinos

Indiana’s casinos generated $203 million in revenue during the holiday season, aided by gamblers. This was a rise from November’s revenue of $196 million.

Once again, Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana emerged as the state’s most profitable gambling hotspot.

Let’s quickly review the casinos that generated the highest revenue last month:

  1. Northern Indiana Hard Rock: $34 million
  2. Horseshoe Indianapolis: $28 million
  3. Horseshoe Hammond: $26 million
  4. Southern Indiana’s Caesars: $21 million
  5. $20 million: Harrah's Hoosier Park

The majority of the state’s $203 million revenue in December was generated from slot machines and other electronic gaming devices, which contributed a significant $165 million to last month’s total.

Table games contributed to the revenue by generating approximately $39 million.

2022 concluded on a positive note for Indiana’s casino market, which should only aid in gaining momentum for the industry in 2023. The affection Hoosiers have for visiting casinos is unlikely to fade in the near future.
