Crossing The Pond: Smarkets Bringing SBK Sportsbook To Indiana’s Rising Star Casino

Sports betting in Indiana is now live, making partnerships with Indiana casinos highly desirable. The partnership between Smarkets and Full House eliminates another option from the list.

The Rising Star Casino in Rising Sun, Indiana, is set to introduce a sportsbook due to a nationwide agreement between the two brands. This partnership will offer a new retail and a future online sports betting choice for Indiana residents.

Information on the National Partnership between Smarkets and Full House

This is the inaugural partnership in the United States for UK-based Smarkets. Unlike a conventional sportsbook, Smarkets operates on an exchange model for odds and incorporates a social component.

The partnership between Smarkets and Full House Resorts extends the product to Full House’s properties in Colorado, as well as Indiana. The decision now lies with the voters to determine if sports betting in Colorado is imminent, contingent on the approval of a referendum this November.

The news release did not specify when the Rising Star Casino’s retail sportsbook would open. However, it mentioned that Smarkets’ SBK mobile betting app would be accessible for Android and iOS users towards the end of this year. Furthermore, the release from Smarkets hinted at the company’s ambition to establish similar partnerships in other states.

The agreement also introduces the SBK app into the market, in line with the anticipated launch of mobile sports betting in the Hoosier State.

In 2019, the SBK app joined the scene alongside other mobile books.

Also expected to launch later this year are online betting apps from various other prominent sportsbook brands, which are likely to include:

  • FanDuel
  • DraftKings
  • BetFred
  • FoxBet
  • PointsBet

BetFred is also an operator based in the UK.

The official launch date for mobile sports betting hasn’t been disclosed yet, but it is speculated that Indiana online sportsbooks could start taking bets as early as next month. Even if the launch happens in October, SBK will not be significantly delayed.

By the time Super Bowl Sunday rolls around, there should be ample mobile betting options for both residents and visitors in the Hoosier State, SBK app being a certain choice among them.
