The remaining members of the Jackson 5 were present in their hometown of Gary, Indiana, to commence the construction of the upcoming Hard Rock Casino.

The Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) has yet to approve the license for the casino. However, Indiana’s Governor Eric Holcomb recently expressed how crucial it is to swiftly establish the new land-based casino.

The two Majestic Star Casinos previously situated on the banks of Lake Michigan will be replaced by The Hard Rock. The new establishment will utilize the amendment in Indiana law, which no longer requires casinos to be waterfront to provide casino gaming.

Despite this, the project’s developers began construction on the casino. The event was marked with great pomp and celebration, including the presence of one of the most renowned families in the music industry.

On the previous Thursday, original Jackson 5 members Jackie, Tito, and Marlon returned to their birthplace, Gary, Indiana, to commence the construction of the proposed Hard Rock Casino. The Rocksino at Terre Haute will feature memorabilia of the renowned group.

Information about the proposed casino with a size of 100,000 square feet

Spectacle Jack LLC, an offshoot of Spectacle Entertainment, has submitted plans for a new casino featuring 1,150 slot machines and 50 gaming tables. The proposal also includes four restaurants and four bars. Additionally, a climate-controlled walkway will connect the casino to the nearby Home2Suites.

Currently, the planned amenities include:

  • A Hard Rock Cafe is being planned with seating arrangements for 125 customers.
  • A high-end steakhouse with seating capacity for 60 guests.
  • A buffet that can accommodate up to 175 guests
  • A Hard Rock branded center bar and sportsbook with seating capacity for up to 75 people.
  • The Constant Grind, a 24-hour Hard Rock coffee shop, can accommodate up to 25 customers.
  • Velvet Sessions, an entertainment venue with a capacity of 300 seats, can host events.
  • A high limit lounge
  • A branded gift shop of Hard Rock or a Rock Shop

That isn’t the end of it. The proposed development plan includes a provision for a future hotel on-site. Additionally, a retail sportsbook is also part of the plan.

At present, the building is surrounded by 1,500 parking spaces, with four proposed convenient entrances leading to the casino.

Rocksino will be situated on the southwest side of Bill Farr Drive and Joe Fox Street, immediately south of the Walmart Super Center along U.S. 40/Indiana 46. This location is on the east side of Terre Haute.

The IGC announced on Friday that a meeting will be held on Feb. 7 at the Vigo County Public Library to review the license application. The specific start time for the meeting has not yet been determined.
