Bulls schedule 2021-2022

As far as the NBA schedule goes, the Bulls will be back to normal this season.

Every team will play a regular 82-game schedule, rather than the shortened 72-game slate from last season.

The NBA is also returning to its traditional mid-October season start time. The 2021-2022 season will be tipping off on Oct. 19.

The Bulls will play three games against every other team in the Eastern Conference, plus, at home and away against every team in the Western Conference. All Central Division teams will play twice at home and once on the road against teams from the same intraconference division.

Here are some of the key dates to keep an eye on for the upcoming season:

  • Oct. 20, 2021: First regular season game
  • Oct. 22, 2021: Home opener at the United Center
  • Feb. 18-20, 2022: NBA All-Star Weekend
  • April 10, 2022: Final regular season game
  • April 15, 2022: NBA Playoffs begin

How did the Bulls do last year?

The 2020–21 Chicago Bulls finished the pandemic-shortened NBA season with a record of 31-41. That ultimately had the team third in the Central Division and 11th in the Eastern Conference.

Welcome to Chicago signThe Bulls were in the play-in tournament hunt leading up to the end of the regular season. Unfortunately, Zach LaVine had to enter health and safety protocols right at the turning point of the team’s year. The 2020-21 NBA season marked the fourth in a row where Chicago finished under .500.

Zach LaVine led the team in scoring and improved his scoring average for the fourth season in a row, but still failed to help the Bulls contend for a playoff spot.

It was the first full year for Arturas Karnisovas as the team’s Executive VP of Basketball Operations. Karnisovas wasted no time reshaping the roster. He managed to trade for All-Star center Nikola Vucevic, and followed the move up with an impressive offseason of acquisitions.

With the bulk of free agency behind us, here’s a look at the team’s projected starting lineup for the 2021-2022 season:

  • Point Guard: Lonzo Ball
  • Shooting Guard: Zach LaVine
  • Small Forward: DeMar DeRozan
  • Power Forward: Patrick Williams
  • Center: Nikola Vucevic

The Bulls shipped out their first round pick in the Vucevic trade, but the team did end up drafting Illinois star and Chicago native Ayo Dosunmu in the second round.

How to read Bulls betting lines

When the Chicago Bulls face the Indiana Pacers this season, the betting lines at an Indiana online sportsbook might look like this:

  • Chicago Bulls +3.5 (-110) +155 O 203.5 (-110)
  • Indiana Pacers -3.5 (-110) -175 U 203.5 (-110)

First you have the point spread. The Bulls are 3.5-point underdogs, which means spread bets on the Bulls will pay if the Bulls win, or lose by less than three points. It also means the Pacers are 3.5-point favorites and spread bets on the Pacers will win if the Pacers win by four or more.

You can also see the -110 odds in brackets for this bet. That means you'll win $100, plus your bet back, for every $110 you bet.

Next you have the moneyline. The Bulls are +155 underdogs. That means every $100 you bet on the Bulls will get you $155, plus your bet back, if the Bulls can get the win.

The Pacers are -175 favorites. That means every $175 you bet on the Pacers will get you $100, plus your bet back, if the Pacers win.

Finally, you have the totals line. Here, you're betting on if the total Bulls-Pacers score will be over or under 203.5 points.

You can also see the -110 odds in brackets for this bet. That means you stand to win $100, plus your bet back, for every $110 you bet on the over or the under.

Vegas odds on the Bulls

A basketball on courtYou might hear about something called Vegas odds on Bulls games. The truth is the Vegas odds aren't much different than the odds on Bulls games you find at most Indiana sportsbooks.

They start out the same, but where they may differ is in how they end up looking just before tip off.

Live betting odds can change for a variety of reasons, but when they change because more money is being bet on one side at one sportsbook, they only change at that sportsbook.

Because there's more interest in Bulls games locally, more money is often bet locally, making the chances local sportsbooks will move the lines better than they are in Vegas.

Bulls live betting

Indiana online sportsbooks have live betting markets open for every Bulls game. That means you can bet on or against the Bulls during games at odds that change with the action.

Live NBA betting markets include the same lines you find pregame at rapidly changing odds, plus, quarter and half lines and an increased number of player and team in-game props.

The odds change in a heartbeat, which makes live betting best suited for sports betting apps that allow you to get bets down fast.

Brief Bulls history

The Chicago Bulls joined the NBA in the 1966–67 NBA season.

The Bulls won six NBA titles during the 1990s. In fact, Hall of Famers Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and coach Phil Jackson helped make the 90s Bulls one of the greatest dynasties in NBA history.

They played in six NBA Finals and won them all. Jordan is widely considered the greatest basketball player of all time.

The 1995–96 Bulls won 72 of 82 games, becoming the first team in NBA history to win 70 or more.

The team struggled after Jordan retired, but returned to prominence after winning the 2008 NBA draft lottery and selecting Chicago native Derrick Rose first overall.

Rose went on to win the 2011 NBA MVP Award and helped the Bulls reach the Eastern Conference finals for the first time since the 1990s.

However, they lost to the Miami Heat, and after locking up the first seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs in 2012, Rose tore his ACL in the season's first playoff game. Rose was never the same player; he eventually left, and the Bulls have struggled since.
