Indiana Gaming Approves Licenses For Both BetIndiana And BetMGM

The Super Bowl Sunday is only a few weeks away, but there’s a possibility that two new operators might enter the Indiana market before the big game.

The Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) granted sports betting licenses to BetIndiana and BetMGM on Monday, setting them up for a launch in the upcoming weeks.

BetIndiana partnering with upcoming Hard Rock

USA Sports Gaming, the parent company of BetIndiana, struck a deal with the upcoming Hard Rock Casinos in Indiana last October. Under the agreement, USA will supply an online sports betting platform in Indiana for the Hard Rock, which will operate under the name BetIndiana.

Sportradar, one of the world’s leading gambling vendors, will power the USA's platform. In addition to this, Sportradar also offers data collection and reporting services for professional sports leagues, including the NBA.

The exact launch dates for BetIndiana and BetMGM, the new licensees in the Hoosier State, are still unclear.

BetMGM collaborates with Belterra for online gambling

BetMGM relates to Roar in the same way that BetIndiana relates to USA. However, MGM has a partnership in the product with GVC Holdings.

Belterra Casino in Florence, the master-license holder partner of BetMGM, is situated approximately an hour’s distance from the metro areas of Cincinnati and Louisville. It’s also just a 15-minute drive from the Kentucky Speedway.

This license symbolizes a further development in the partnership between Boyd Gaming, the operator of Belterra, and MGM. Boyd also owns another property in Indiana, Blue Chip Casino, which holds the license for FanDuel’s online sportsbook.

In addition to the uncertainty surrounding their launch dates, there is another significant question looming over these brands. Can they secure a substantial portion of the market share in the Hoosier State?

The online sportsbook scene in Indiana is becoming crowded.

These two brands could potentially launch on or before Super Bowl Sunday. If the target date is February 2, it won’t be the only one.

BetBull, PointsBet, and SBK Sportsbooks are all planning to launch their betting apps in Indiana on the same date. While PointsBet is gaining popularity, the other brands may not have the same level of brand recognition.

BetIndiana and BetMGM may only be two out of five brands launching that day, but the other three sportsbooks are at a disadvantage. These companies, without a license yet, will undoubtedly be under pressure to be operational by February 2nd.

However, the rush might be worth it. The Super Bowl is considered the most significant single day for sports betting in the United States each year.

Residents of Indiana can anticipate attractive promotions such as deposit bonuses, loss guarantees, and odds boosts to attract new clientele. Given the tremendous interest in the event, even established online sportsbooks will take part.

The state also approved additional betting options for the Super Bowl to increase excitement. These include NFL prop bets on aspects such as the coin toss and the color of the Gatorade shower.

It’s not sure whether and how much BetIndiana and BetMGM will participate. However, it’s definite that both brands will soon become part of the action in Indiana.
