TheScore Inks MLB Deal Before Its Sports Betting App Launches In Indiana

TheScore has signed a contract to become an approved gaming operator for Major League Baseball.

The sports media company is also the owner of theScore Bet Sportsbook, which is set to launch in Indiana soon.

Once theScore Bet becomes operational, it will be the eighth online sportsbook in the state. Until that happens, Caesars Sportsbook remains the latest addition to the online sportsbook scene in the Hoosier State.

In May, theScore Bet received a temporary vendor license from the Indiana Gaming Commission, marking the first significant step towards launching a sportsbook in the state.

Since then, it’s been predominantly quiet, but a deal like this with MLB finally indicates some activity on the side of theScore Bet.

Is theScore Bet planning a July launch in Indiana?

The new deals of theScore Bet imply that the sportsbook may be launched in Indiana sometime this month.

This would be logical as both the NBA and MLB are set to resume their games by the end of the month.

The new agreement between TheScore and the MLB is akin to the one it inked with the NBA in January.

The MLB and NBA are likely to attract a significant amount of betting interest, given the absence of most major sports for several months. TheScore Bet will undoubtedly want to participate in this action.

Launching online prior to the return of both those leagues could make the difference between a successful start in the Hoosier State and a mediocre one.

TheScore could have delayed securing an MLB deal. However, the fact that it didn’t implies that it wants to be prepared for the start of the season this month.

Should theScore Bet manage to launch on schedule, it will join the competition with other online sports betting apps in Indiana, vying for the attention of Hoosier bettors.

Penn National grants Indiana access to theScore Bet

Currently, theScore Bet is exclusively accessible in New Jersey. However, this situation will not last for long.

TheScore Bet now has the opportunity to collaborate with Penn’s casinos due to the company's agreement with Penn National Gaming. This deal provides the sportsbook with access to markets in 11 different states.

theScore Bet will be utilizing Ameristar East Chicago’s license in Indiana. Ameristar, one of Penn’s casinos, is already a terrestrial partner of DraftKings Sportsbook.

In the future, TheScore Bet undoubtedly aims to extend its reach to as many states as possible. Among these states is Indiana, with planned launches also forthcoming in Colorado and Michigan.

TheScore will be personalized with the help of MLB data.

Data constitutes a significant portion for every sportsbook, but it’s especially crucial for theScore Bet compared to other companies.

This is due to the distinctive strategy that theScore Bet employs for sports betting.

By integrating its sportsbook with its regular sports app, it provides customers with personalized betting options.

The sports app from TheScore is akin to its competitors such as ESPN and Bleacher Report, given its feature that allows you to customize the app to your preference.

After downloading theScore sports app, you will choose your preferred teams and leagues. When you shift from the regular app to the sportsbook, theScore Bet will utilize your selected teams to provide you with customized betting options tailored to your preferences.

For instance, if you are an ardent Pacers fan, numerous Pacers-related bets will appear when you initially open theScore Bet app.

Nonetheless, theScore Bet can provide you with personalized options only if you utilize its standard sports app. Without knowledge of your preferences, the company is unable to offer you those custom-made options.

This is why the sportsbook in Indiana specifically requires MLB data.

Should you live in Indiana and have never informed the company of your preferred football team, it’s likely that theScore Bet will presume you to be a Colts fan. At the very least, this is a good assumption for the sportsbook to start with.

However, since Indiana doesn’t have a dedicated MLB franchise, the sportsbook lacks a primary team to collaborate with.

Are you a supporter of the Reds, Cubs, Cardinals, White Sox, or some other team? The information obtained from theScore Bet’s recent MLB agreement will assist them in determining this.
